Full color printing and its effectiveness in today’s marketplace.

Friday, March 14th, 2008

I have been around and involved in the full color commercial printing industry for well over 25 years.  I guess this makes me what they would call a trained professional after all I have been earning well over six digit personal income and have created and business tens of millions of dollars over the last 25 years. Some years ago when I first was introduced to the full color printing market place as a person purchasing full color printing for my own events. I started out as a nightclub promoter and I would order for color printing from a commercial printer located in Manhattan.  Over near Spring Street and Van Damme. The thing I was able to find out, back then was how form printing worked, better known as gang run printing today.  Nowadays, almost all a full color printing that you purchase on any given day is done by a gang run printer. Back then, very few printers were actually involved in production in this way.  And if you want to buy something like 5000 full color postcards you’d end up paying someone area for upwards of 700 to well over $1000 for 5000 full color postcards. Now for product is even more superior than that, based on technology in the sheer volume and competitiveness of this particular industry the commercial printing industry.  That same product can be easily purchased phone anywhere in the area of $150 to someone area of $325, which I have to tell you this is significant discount from where once was. One of the companies you have heard about from me many times before is www.preferredprint.com This company offers a variety of full color printing at virtually wholesale printing prices.  It’s a definitely worthwhile time to give them a hard look to see what they have that minefield to help you in the future your commercial printing needs.  So whether it’s 123 color printing or something that may be a bit more coarsely such as full color catalogs, full-color brochures, full color business cards, full-color letterheads in envelopes.  They also dual wide variety of promotional products, and I know that they also carry a full line of mailing equipment.  So they’re able to fulfill all of your direct mail and marketing needs.  They also have a full staff of graphic designers.  I believe that the Rall running state-of-the-art G5 Macintosh computers.

One of the first resources like to tell you about for full color printing is www.freeprintingdirectoryonline.com this is a wonderful resource because it has virtually somewhere in the area 60,000 full color commercial printers in the United States. It’s nice because you can search various different ways, whether it’s by the city’s by the state that you’re in.  Its also very nice unit available to look for possible vendors, if you’re doing something like a road trip like let’s say that there are corporate headquarters that you work is in Cincinnati were you ever trade show that you’re going to be in New York City you can actually search for vendors in those local areas.  So this way, you can get your printing in New York City when you’re there for your trade show run printing it in Cincinnati and then having it shipped to that location. I believe this to be an essential tool for adding marketing director looking to purchase full color printing and/or marketing material for various different reasons.  It also has its listings broken down by specific products like let’s say brochure printing catalog printing full color services direct mailing services one to three color printing always different things are broken down good inside the resources of free printing directory online.com.

Get a facelift on all your full-color printing products.

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

One of the things that I’ve noticed from being the full color printing industry for many years is that a lot of client selects we just take their old for lack of a better word crappy designs.  Brochures that they have not made up back in the 1980’s and then go and spend thousands of dollars on having these things reprinted. If you’re going to go out and buy a brand-new full-color brochure or a full-color postcard full-color rack cards and US spend tons of money on full-color letterhead and envelopes.  It’s in your best interests to have a professional graphic designer re work and all of the graphic design and maybe even your logo if it needs a facelift.  If I’ve said it once I say it a million times.  The integrity of your graphic design will ultimately make or break your whole entire campaign.  It’ll make or break every single piece of marketing material that you have higher a quality graphic design firms to take care of all your graphic design needs.

Preferred print.com launches its new website.

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

I’d been in communication with preferredprint.com talking to them about the latest and greatest in full color printing technology.  And I guess they as most companies that offer a full color printing and graphic design services have told me how they started to move into new product lines. I know that they’re now doing things like building big e-commerce website. As well as doing search engine optimization, which there is been a tremendous amount of growth in the last year. One of the things that they were Tony that they’re about to start doing on their full color printing website was debuting one of the newest plug-ins for e-commerce and regular HTML websites in the last year. They’re calling it website videos. Website videos are very interesting medium and marketing concept for your average humdrum website. It allows potential customers to come to your website and actually have a little commercial about the products and service you are offering. And if any company needs to cut down on the terms and jargon and getting out to the clients in layman’s terms, it’s a commercial printing industry.  I know what this website video commercial they’re going to pushing very seven products like postcards, pocket folders, graphic design services, letterhead and envelope, and many more products to say the least.

How do I create a good logo??

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

People estimate is quite often, obviously as being an owner of a full color printing and graphic design company. People ask me all the time about logo design. The first thing I would tell you about, logo design is very important for you the customer to know what it is that you have a mine.  You may ask yourself how is it done loan to find out what it is that I like.  Very simple, where I would suggest that you do is to actually go to Borders.  Or maybe Barnes & Noble going to the graphic design area of the bookstore and star looking at books on creating logos.  There are many good books out there that have various different styles from hundreds of not thousands of different town the graphic designers around the country. Then when she find a couple logos alike than you can actually give a brief description to the graphic designer that you want to design your logo. The thing is really important for you to keep in mind is that you logo is going to be the one constant on every and all walking products that you’re going to be putting out for your new company. The slow old be carried through, probably a full color business cards as well as a full-color brochure. But it doesn’t stop there than you need to come up with a pocket folder with your logo on it letterhead and envelopes with your logo on it. You’re going to get a full-color catalog what you logo on all your direct and talking pieces going to have your logo on.  And the logo and marketing your business like a full-color banner.  Direct mail pieces flyers that you print up to do hand and distribution every single thing is going to have a logo on it.  That’s why it’s imperative that when you’d spend money on the logo you don’t skimp get what it is that you need get what is that you want.  So som porn when the creating the logo to make sure that they give it to you so can be run within process colors like a beauty 12 or three color printing the logo would transfer into that and you can utilize it.  So if you had to do T-shirt store to various different things like embroidery that you can actually use a logo for that as well.  Most people realize how much information goes into creating a logo.  That’s what are usually so expensive.

Direct mailing and full color printing.

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

There are many different products that people use in combinations with direct mailing. It was a time that you could get away with doing this by using a 4 x 6 postcard.  Putting your special offer on one side of the front and basically for the most part the back is used for the ink jet in the names and address. The thing is his most things are the more that they are use the more they become obsolete. This is why I like to personally change up my direct mail pieces, and do some things a little bit different when it comes to marketing promotion. One of the things I like to use is a full-color postcard that is 6 inches by 11 half inches.  His legal size postcard that you can actually use before it actually doesn’t jump in to what they call flats.  So when you sending this out standard now whether you send out of 5 x 7, 6 x 8, or a 6 x 11.5 postcard they are all the same price and records the postage.  When sending at your direct mail piece using standard mail.  So my scenario is the bigger the better this way it actually takes presidents over every single thing that’s with inside the mailbox.  At that point, they say they have a senior piece.  It’s fairly unlikely the other thing I like to do when it comes to direct mail pieces.  As I like to also send out a full-color trifold brochure 8.5 x 11.  This I generally print on hundred pound plus tax and fall down to a trifold brochure using the back now is the place for me to put my geisha and do my mailing information.  Now and then will also send out a direct mail piece using full-color pocket folders, and having those things inserted into a 9 x 12 envelope. This is obviously a much more expensive mailing I only usually do it to existing client base or very hot leads.  These are just some of the handful ideas when it comes to direct mail and marketing. Noticing at spurring foreigners and make sure that you’re dealing with a high and full-color graphic design artist that knows how to put together a strong call to action have people act on whatever it is that you’re promoting.  Some people also use of four by non-rack card as well using the back panel for the to direct mail campaign.

What direction is the full color printing industry heading in??

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

In my opinion, it appears that a lot of companies have jeered themselves into doing gang run full color printing.  The problem is that once you create this would does ultimately his drives down prices lower and lower because everybody’s competing to keep those printing forms ganged up with a quick turnaround time. The way that form printing works is that you end up putting like 13 to 15 different clients on each individual forms. Basically, what generally happens is the form is 12 x 18 and then what you would normally do is put lets say eight different postcards up on that form.  Usually they’ll range between 4 x 6 full color postcards to full color postcards that are 5.5 x 4.25 92 when these postcards generally is from a different client.  And what you end up doing is running 5000 sheets and then cutting the sheets down in each individual postcard is a different client each client gets 5000 full color postcards. The promise is that you need to have every single day 10 to 15, 20 different clients ordering and purchasing every single day. Which then again, tends to drive the price way down because everybody’s competing triumph of their forms. Thus comes as saying live by the sword die by the sword. And based on the fact that the Internet is commoditizing everything within it commercial printing industry.  Many printers have been an able to continue and keep up. And also as a result, the 12 and three color printing industry has taken huge beating and it’s very hard to find offset printers that are willing to do 12 and three color printing nowadays.  They end up doing this gang runs.  Not just on postcards, they also do a non-full-color pocket folders, full-color brochures, full color postcards, full color business cards, full-color letterhead and envelopes, full-color rack cards, or even companies out there that I gang running full-color 30 no plastic cards.

It’s very important that all of your branding from your web design to your full color brochure all be consistent.

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Very often when I meet people out in the field.  They’re printed materials as well as their websites have no consistency whatsoever. I try to burn into the consciousness of every person whom I run into that the graphic design of all of your marketing pieces.  You present business as well as any future business that you might be able to bring in as a result of any type of walking that you’re doing. A lot of companies spend a lot of money in the landing.  So this way their marketing promotions that much more effective.  And it is imperative that you do this type of consistency to all of your collateral. From your letterhead and envelope to the flyers and postcards that you have people doing distribution on.  It’s also very important for you to come up with some type of customer reward system.  Companies generally used a 30 mill plastic card, which gives a look of a credit card with some type of freak and shopper frequent flyer miles program.  I know that www.preferredprint.com has some very good programs that they are running right now. I also liked the idea of using rack cards in a classic Lucite holder and having people do grass roots marketing campaign.

Full color printing and going Green!!!!

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

This is going to be the wave of the new future.  When you think about it.  The volume of paper that commercial printers are taking down on any given day is estimated to take up miles of forest.  This is why it’s so imperative for this industry in particular to go green.  The more that the consumer request this or as a matter of fact demands it is what they need to spec out there jobs to sooner this will become a reality.  I believe that they innovative, full color commercial printer will get in front of this going green which will give them a competitive edge in today’s ever-changing printing industry. I know that www.preferredprint.com uses a mix between new and recycled paper. The paper that they are expecting all the jobs of the beast 80% of recycle compost within their paper. So whether you’re printing a one, two, or three color job.  Whether it’s a pocket folder, catalog, flyer printing, or a poster print job.  It needs to be on the least at the Ben minimum 80% compost recycle Paper. and actually really looks good as well  if you do a business card on 100% recycled paper gives is this really nice rustic look, which is a very different than what you see today on your average full color business card print job.  I believe his wallet this really creates a big marketing advantage when you can play this up that your company is getting behind all of the newest green technology.  It also looks really good on letterhead and envelope as well.

The full color printing industry, and what are you doing to retain your clients!!!??

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

If they were ever an industry need of a jumpstart.  It’s the printing industry. Commercial princes and been around for many many years that’s to good news. The bad news is, commercial full color printing has been around for many many years. Anytime and initiates used to doing business a certain way, they become very resistance to change. The reason that I’m so present to this is because I’m watching this industry as a whole not backing various different things that keep changing in today’s marketplace. First of all the Internet is the most powerful thing to hit this industry, and every industry for that matter in the history of business. This is also had some good repercussions as well as bit repercussions. The other thing that the full color commercial printing industry is not embraced a lease from my perspective is going green. This to me is an absolute must. And the more that I think about it.  The more that I realize the commercial printers that embrace this whole glowing green technology will be the four front-runners of the commercial printing industry.  The other industry that can really make a difference is the graphic design industry requesting inspecting all recycled paper on the wall of their new design pieces that they are now pushing out. As far as I’m concerned, whether you’re printing a full color business cards, or a full-color postcard.  The job needs to be a specification in my opinion on quality recycled paper.
